Pulling Block
Pulling Block
This small block is born of necessity. There are many people struggling with pulling the irons out of the leather, rocking the iron back and forth to release it.
This is detrimental to your stitching as it can make some holes larger, uneven and possibly even damage your iron. So... necessity being the mother of invention, Nigel Armitage came up with the iron pulling block.
Its use is simple and designed to be used together with stitching irons that fully penetrate the leather. Ideally, the iron needs to go straight in, and come straight out, this will give you a row of consistent holes to stitch. To assist with the pulling, the block is laid flat on the leather up against the iron, you then apply pressure on the block and pull the iron straight out. No uneven holes, no damaged irons, better stitching.
